Lens Features

25.00 mm Telephoto Focal Length

The 25.00±5% mm focal length narrows the view for long-range detection and identification work.

Three Sensor Formats, One Lens

Three characterised sensor columns give 1/1.8-inch, 1/2.5-inch and 1/2-inch integrators their own FOV, distortion, relative illumination and CRA figures.

Low TV Distortion Below 0.51%

Measured TV distortion stays below 0.51% on the 1/1.8-inch format, keeping edge geometry predictable for inspection tasks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I read the three FOV columns when choosing this lens?

Start from your image sensor, not from a headline angle. The 1/1.8-inch IMX334/IMX678 column gives FOV 9.9°/17.3°/19.8° (V/H/D), the 1/2.5-inch PS5520 column gives 9.8°/13.0°/16.1°, and the 1/2-inch IMX586 column gives 11.0°/14.5°/18.0°. Read the column that matches your sensor, then confirm working distance and frame coverage before fixing the mechanical envelope.

Will the Ø9.00 mm image circle cover my sensor?

The Ø9.00 mm maximum image circle is the design limit for this model, and the three characterised formats (1/1.8-inch, 1/2.5-inch and 1/2-inch) all sit inside it. If your sensor diagonal requires more than Ø9.00 mm, mount an alternative model or start a custom design rather than pushing this barrel beyond its characterised field.

Which image sensors has this lens been characterised with, and what are the values?

Three sensor columns are published. On 1/1.8-inch IMX334 and IMX678: FOV 9.9°/17.3°/19.8°, TV distortion below 0.51%, relative illumination above 66.63%, CRA below 17.15°. On 1/2.5-inch PS5520: 9.8°/13.0°/16.1°, below 0.31%, above 77.06%, below 14.14°. On 1/2-inch IMX586: 11.0°/14.5°/18.0°, below 0.37%, above 71.74%, below 15.72°. Distortion and CRA are stated as bounds and relative illumination as a lower bound, so performance should be read against your exact sensor.

Does the M12.00*P0.50 thread fit a standard M12 lens holder?

The barrel carries an M12.00*P0.50 thread, the S-mount thread used on board-level M12 holders, and it screws into the holder rather than directly into the PCB. Check holder depth against TTL 25.94±0.3 mm and rear outer diameter Ø14.00±0.1 mm, and confirm the front step length of 5.60±0.1 mm clears your housing.

Can I request an evaluation sample before committing to production?

Yes. Evaluation samples are available so your optical and hardware teams can run their own checks on image quality, illumination falloff and mechanical fit. Send your sensor model, lens holder drawing and mechanical constraints with the sample request so the correct configuration is prepared.

Can this lens be customized for a different sensor or housing?

Yes. Custom imaging lens development starts from your image sensor, required FOV, working distance, distortion target, image circle and mechanical constraints. The workflow runs from optical design and mechanical design through prototype, validation and mass production, with JSD Optics acting as an imaging lens developer and manufacturer for camera module builders.

Does the built-in IR650 filter affect near-infrared imaging?

The 6G+IR650 construction integrates an IR650 filter whose published figures define a visible pass band with near-infrared blocking: average transmittance ≥90% from 440 to 620 nm, 50% at 650±10 nm, average ≤3% from 700 to 1000 nm and below 5% at 1050 nm. Those figures describe spectral transmission and measurement conditions are to be confirmed; near-infrared imaging performance for this model is not specified, so validate it with your own tests.

What we ask first
  • Sensor model (Sony / Onsemi / Omnivision)

  • Application type (machine vision / security / UAV)

  • Resolution & FOV (e.g. 8MP, 19.8° diagonal)

  • Working distance & FBL constraints

  • Mechanical envelope (length, diameter)

JSD2425-A1 is a fixed focal length M12 imaging lens built around a 25.00±5% mm effective focal length and an F/2.40±5% aperture. Its 6G+IR650 construction pairs six glass elements with a built-in IR650 filter, and the Ø9.00 mm maximum image circle covers 1/1.8-inch, 1/2.5-inch and 1/2-inch sensors. Rated at 8MP lens resolving class, it suits camera modules that need a narrow, long-reach field of view.

Optical behaviour is characterised per sensor format rather than as one column. On 1/1.8-inch IMX334 and IMX678 the lens delivers FOV 9.9°/17.3°/19.8° (V/H/D), TV distortion below 0.51%, relative illumination above 66.63% and CRA below 17.15°. On 1/2.5-inch PS5520 the same barrel gives 9.8°/13.0°/16.1°, below 0.31%, above 77.06% and below 14.14°. On 1/2-inch IMX586 the figures are 11.0°/14.5°/18.0°, below 0.37%, above 71.74% and below 15.72°. That spread lets one focal length serve several camera generations, while the illumination figures keep corner brightness usable.

Mechanically the lens uses an M12.00*P0.50 thread and measures TTL 25.94±0.3 mm, BFL 7.87±0.2 mm and FBL 6.10±0.2 mm, with a rear outer diameter of Ø14.00±0.1 mm, a front outer diameter (object side) of 19.94±0.2 mm and a front step length of 5.60±0.1 mm. Coating, MTF, weight, ingress protection and temperature ranges are to be confirmed. Applications include long-range surveillance, traffic monitoring, industrial inspection and UAV imaging; custom optical and mechanical development follows the same sensor-oriented process.
