Lens Features

TV Distortion Below 0.2%

TV distortion measures under 0.2%, so straight edges stay straight across the 1/2.7" field for OCR, barcode, and measurement work.

8MP Detail in a 10.98mm Body

A 1G3P design resolves 8MP on 1/2.7" sensors while TTL stays at 10.98mm, fitting compact embedded housings.

Integrated IR650 Cut Filter

A built-in filter passes 90% or more of 440-620nm light and blocks 700-1000nm, removing an assembly step and correcting color.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check that this lens fits my 1/2.7-inch sensor and holder?

The ø7.10 mm image circle covers the 1/2.7-inch format on 8MP sensors such as the S0831AI, so the sensor diagonal sits inside the corrected field. Confirm your holder height against BFL 2.79 mm and the 1.50 mm rear step, and check that the sensor CRA is compatible with the lens value of 16.24° or lower.

Can we evaluate a sample before committing to a production build?

Evaluation samples can be arranged through the sales channel for bench testing. Send the sensor model, holder drawing, and target working distance so we can confirm that back focal length, rear step, and field of view match your module before you commit tooling or volume.

Can the focal length, coating, or IR filter be changed for our program?

This model is fixed at 7.00 mm with a built-in IR650 filter, so a focal length change needs a new optical design. Coating variants and alternative IR-cut wavelengths can be reviewed as a custom configuration once your sensor, spectral target, and mechanical envelope are defined.

Will this lens work on a 1/1.8-inch sensor or a 12MP sensor?

No. The ø7.10 mm image circle and 8MP design are sized for 1/2.7-inch sensors, so larger formats such as 1/1.8-inch would lose the corners and a 12MP sensor would out-resolve the optics. Specify a lens with a larger image circle for those formats.

Does the built-in IR650 filter support NIR or night-vision imaging?

The filter attenuates 700-1000 nm to 3% or less, so this lens is set up for visible-light imaging with corrected color, not for NIR sensitivity. Applications that need near-infrared response require a different filter configuration, which is handled as a separate custom item.

How do we focus and lock the lens after mounting?

Thread the barrel into a standard M12×P0.5 holder and rotate it to focus at your working distance. With BFL 2.79 ± 0.2 mm and TTL 10.98 ± 0.3 mm the focus travel is short, so secure the barrel with a set screw or locking compound to keep focus stable under vibration.

The JSD7024-A1 is a 7.00 mm M12-mount lens for 8MP embedded vision cameras on 1/2.7" sensors, with a 50.9° diagonal, 45.1° horizontal, and 26.2° vertical field of view. Its four-element 1G3P construction and measured TV distortion below 0.2% make it a practical choice for barcode reading, OCR, machine vision inspection, and face recognition terminals, where straight lines and repeatable framing matter.

Optically, the hybrid glass-plastic stack keeps the barrel at TTL 10.98 mm with a ø14.00 mm maximum outer diameter, so the lens fits compact front panels and short camera stacks. At F/2.80, relative illumination stays above 63.55% and the chief ray angle remains under 16.24°, which keeps corner brightness and resolution usable on sensors with low CRA. An IR650 filter is integrated in the barrel: average transmission is at least 90% from 440 to 620 nm, 50% at 650 ± 10 nm, and no more than 3% from 700 to 1000 nm, so daylight color is corrected without a separate filter in the camera.

The lens mounts on a standard M12×P0.5 thread, with a rear outer diameter of 10.51 mm, a 1.50 mm rear step, and a 2.50 mm front opening, so it drops into common 14 mm M12 holders. Back focal length is 2.79 ± 0.2 mm and flange back length is 1.20 ± 0.2 mm, both held to tolerance for repeatable focus across production units. Samples, drawings, and custom IR-cut or coating configurations can be reviewed against your sensor and housing before release.
